As I’ve been watching through M*A*S*H, I’ve wanted to give the show its due by reviewing it as I go, but this has been one of the most difficult shows for me to review. I think it’s because the show has been so consistent in quality over the course of its first three seasons, which is a good thing for a show like this, and a testament to how well everyone does on it. It just makes it hard to review, because just like in my review of season 2, I don’t have much to say about season 3 that I haven’t already said.

Season 3 does mark the end of the original core cast of characters. While both characters are in the entirety of season 3, both Col. Henry Blake and Capt. John “Trapper” McIntyre left the show after this season. So, changes did start to happen to the show after this season, but this is the last one to have the original crew. I was sad about this, because Henry was one of my favorite characters, and I’ve always liked Trapper too.

Still, season 3 is another strong season of M*A*S*H. This would be an incredibly hard show for me to rank seasons for, because so far I’ve thought that seasons 1-3 have all been very similar in overall quality. They all have their episodes that are better than others, but as a whole it’s always felt like the same show. I think season 3 was every bit as good as the first two seasons.
