This is one of those reviews where I’m not even going to attempt to squeeze a bunch of material out of it. There isn’t much to say about Magic for Humans that I didn’t already say in my season 1 review, so there isn’t a whole lot I need to say in a review here. My basic point for reviewing season 2 is to see how it stacks up to season 1. So, if you haven’t watched season 1, check out my review of it and see if it sounds like it might be up your alley. And the short answer to how season 2 is, is that if you liked season 1, you’ll probably like season 2 as well.

So, the whole idea behind this show was that magician Justin Willman wanted to perform magic tricks that would allow him to become more connected to humanity. Fair enough. Because of this, each of the 6 episodes in season 1 revolved around a particular theme, and the same is true for this next set of 6 episodes in season 2. The themes here are pretty varied, such as Christmas, being a dad, and the passage of time. I thought the ideas here were just as strong as the ones in season 1, so I still enjoyed it about the same.

More importantly, the magic tricks are just as strong in season 2. It might go without saying, but your enjoyment of a show like this is largely going to rest on whether or not you like magic. I’ve always been fascinated by it, so something like this is up my alley. I thought the tricks in season 1 were really cool, and season 2 delivers more of that. And in the end, that’s all I really need to say about season 2 of Magic for Humans. It’s just as strong as season 1 was, so it’s more of what I enjoyed. This show is such a short time commitment that it’s easy to recommend, and it’s great if you just want some simple casual viewing. It’s not like I’ve thought about the show since watching it, but I enjoyed the time I spent with it, and I’d definitely be down for more seasons.
